My Opinions

I would never resort to commercial
endorsements. Where'd this Buick
frisbee come from?
Ok. Don't worry. Your favorite English Setter is not going commercial. It's just that I get an awful lot of email asking me what I like to eat and other various things about the care and keeping of dogs. I offer you my opinions here. They are just one dog's opinion which you can take or leave, but since you asked, here is what makes me a happy dog!
First, you've got to have the right dog food. Personally, I have tried a lot of different kinds but there is no dog food I like better than Nutro Natural Choice. If you look at the label, you'll see why I like it. The meat is the first ingredient. Contains no corn at all and rice is used as the only filler. Ok, my human, Jason told me to say that. Did it sound pretty convincing? It's true though, see for yourself!

Only slightly less important than good food is a good treat. Personally, I LOVE Purina T BONZ. These nutritious treats look and taste like a real steak. Hard and crunchy on the outside, meaty and chewy on the inside. Helps clean teeth and freshen breath.
Toys are crucial. Some are good and some are useful. When your humans go to buy toys for you, theere are some hints you can throw their way so they know what to keep in mind. After all, toys can be pricey and we want our humans to spend their money wisely so they will have lots left over to buy treats and chewies. Consider the following:
  • Does the toy squeak or make noise? If so, will it annoy your people when they are trying to watch TV if you play with it? If yes, this would probably not be my first choice.
  • Is the toy interactive, like a tug-o-war toy? This is useful because I can play with it by myself or I can drag my human around the house with it. This type of toy 's what I call a "quality-time-just-waiting-to-happen" toy.
  • Will the toy give me, your loyal and faithful companion, something to do? For example, when you take off on one of your excursions and leave me at home, will this toy give me something to do to keep my mind off how lonely I am? If so, this toy is worth its weight in doggie biscuits!
With these toy-buying tips in mind. Here are a couple recommendations for toys for a dog like me. On a sidenote, Yoshi loves all of these toys as much as I do.
One of the most popular dog toys around is popular for a reason. It's the Kong! I got one for Christmas this year and Yoshi and I love it! The picture above shows me enjoying it just after Santa Claws brought it to me. Here is what it has to offer:
  • Durable rubber construction - even Yoshi's powerful jaws can't seem to hurt it. Some have even called it "indestructable!"
  • Beehive shape for unpredictable bounces
  • Hollow so your person can stuff it with dog treats (small Milk Bone dog biscuits are a perfect fit) or better yet, peanut butter! Talk about keeping me occupied, that stuff is sticky and I won't leave it alone until all the peanut butter is gone!
