Lotsa Snow!

One morning I came out of my room and couldn't believe my eyes. SNOW!! and lots of it had fallen overnight. I heard somebody say 14 inches!! I am not sure how much that is in doggie inches, but it seemed like a whole lot! I couldn't wait to go outside. The only problem was, there was a bunch of snow blocking the way out. Through my sliding door, I could see a mountain of snow that was way taller than me! I needed help. Luckily, dad showed up and shoveled me a path.
It took me a while to get up the guts to jump off the porch into the snow. I was afraid I would be lost forever! Finally, I gathered the courage and determination we English Setters are known for and jumped for it. It wasn't so bad... in fact, a nice, soft landing awaited me.
Now, I am no stranger to snow. In fact, I love it! I could play in it for hours (if mom and dad would let me.) But this was a little frightening. I had to run back and forth for at least 20 minutes before I wore a path in the snow. I think of it as my own personal toboggan run!
Now that my path was cleared, it was time for some serious fun! Dad and I have a game that we like to play. I bark at passing cars and he comes out and tries to get me to come in the house. When I don't come right away, he tries to give me stuff to entice me to the door. When it's snowy like this, he uses snowballs.
I love to catch 'em and eat 'em. Dad knows I just can't resist a good snowball. Well, the other day, he started throwing them to me and I'm sure he was impressed with the athletic prowess I displayed. When are the next Winter Olympic Games, anyway?
Such form!
Such athleticism!
Such cold wet weather! I've had enough. Besides, this snow doesn't have much flavor anyway. I've worked up an appetite for some good ol' Purina.
Ah... That's better. Warm and dry. Still, the snow is calling me. I think I need to go out again! Oh Daa-aaaaad!
