One morning I came out
of my room and couldn't believe my eyes. SNOW!! and lots
of it had fallen overnight. I heard somebody say 14
inches!! I am not sure how much that is in doggie inches,
but it seemed like a whole lot! I couldn't wait to go
outside. The only problem was, there was a bunch of snow
blocking the way out. Through my sliding door, I could
see a mountain of snow that was way taller than me! I
needed help. Luckily, dad showed up and shoveled me a
path.

It took me a while to get up
the guts to jump off the porch into the snow. I was
afraid I would be lost forever! Finally, I gathered
the courage and determination we English Setters are
known for and jumped for it. It wasn't so bad... in
fact, a nice, soft landing awaited me. |
Now, I am no stranger to snow.
In fact, I love it! I could play in it for hours (if
mom and dad would let me.) But this was a little
frightening. I had to run back and forth for at least
20 minutes before I wore a path in the snow. I think
of it as my own personal toboggan run! |

Now that my path was cleared,
it was time for some serious fun! Dad and I have a
game that we like to play. I bark at passing cars and
he comes out and tries to get me to come in the
house. When I don't come right away, he tries to give
me stuff to entice me to the door. When it's snowy
like this, he uses snowballs. |
I love to catch 'em and eat
'em. Dad knows I just can't resist a good snowball.
Well, the other day, he started throwing them to me
and I'm sure he was impressed with the athletic
prowess I displayed. When are the next Winter Olympic
Games, anyway? |

Such cold wet weather! I've
had enough. Besides, this snow doesn't have much
flavor anyway. I've worked up an appetite for some
good ol' Purina. |
Ah... That's better. Warm and
dry. Still, the snow is calling me. I think I need to
go out again! Oh Daa-aaaaad! |
